Description
This is a set of four cream stoneware plates made for Christmas, each one 16cm across and 3cm tall. Around the centre runs a ring of little angel mice, wings out and haloes on, some playing trumpets, and beyond them a border of stars sits just inside a painted line at the rim. The middle of each plate is left plain, so the pattern frames whatever you put on it. At 16cm across these are side or dessert plates rather than dinner plates: the right size for a slice of Christmas cake, a couple of mince pies or a round of buttered toast.
They belong on the table right through December, from Advent breakfasts to Christmas afternoon tea, and they earn their place again on Boxing Day with cheese and crackers or a slice of leftover pudding. Set one beside each place at Christmas dinner for bread, or pass them round with dessert. Four plates suit a family table, and the cheerful pattern makes them a welcome gift for anyone who looks forward to setting a festive table. The mice and stars are friendly rather than loud, so the plates sit happily alongside plainer tableware as well as other Christmas pieces.
Each plate is 100% stoneware with a glazed finish, and is shallow with a gently curved edge. Stoneware is a dense, hard-wearing ceramic, which is why it suits plates that will be used and washed often. Care is simple: they go in the dishwasher, in the microwave for warming a slice of pudding, and in the oven, so mince pies can be warmed on the plate they are served from. For styling, stand the four upright on a dresser shelf or plate rack through December so the star borders show, then bring them down when the kettle goes on.

Frequently Asked
What size are these plates?
Each plate is 16cm across and 3cm tall, which makes it a side or dessert plate rather than a dinner plate, ideal for cake, mince pies or toast.
Can they go in the dishwasher and the microwave?
Yes. They go in the dishwasher and the microwave, and in the oven too, so warming food and washing up afterwards are both straightforward.
What are the plates made of?
They are made from 100% stoneware with a glazed finish. Stoneware is a dense, hard-wearing ceramic that suits everyday use as well as the Christmas table.
How many plates do I get?
You receive four plates, all with the same pattern: a ring of angel mice around a plain centre and a border of stars near the rim.
Can I serve food on them?
Yes. They are made for serving food, so use them for Christmas cake, biscuits, mince pies, cheese and crackers or anything else that suits a 16cm plate.
