Description

This is a deep, low garden chair built on an iron frame, with polyester cord woven across the arms and back. The cord runs in bundles that are gathered and wrapped at the centre, so each section pinches into an hourglass. The pattern carries on around every side, the back included. A beige seat cushion and back cushion, both filled with polyester, sit inside the frame. The chair is 87cm long, 68cm wide and 72cm tall, and the arms sit at the full 72cm.

With a seat height of 40cm and a seat depth of 60cm, this is a chair for sitting back in rather than perching on. It is closer to a lounge chair than a dining chair, and right for a long afternoon with a book on the terrace or a slow evening on the patio. It takes a maximum load of 130KG. The woven back is as worked as the arms, so the chair looks finished from behind. That matters in a courtyard or on a lawn, where the chair is seen from the house as often as from the table.
