Description

A set of two ceramic mugs, each 7cm tall and 10cm across and holding 370ml. They are painted by hand in grey brush stripes over a cream ground, each stripe set off by a line of fine dark dots, and because every mug is painted on its own no two carry exactly the same marks.

At 370ml these are the larger of the two Patthar mug sizes; the range also makes a small. Each mug is 7cm tall and 10cm across, and they come in twos. The Patthar mug is made in three colourways, this grey one alongside a sand and a clay.

The mugs are ceramic. The surface is painted individually with a brush, a process that calls for precision and that only a handful of makers can do. The same painting runs across the rest of the Patthar range, which holds plates, bowls, a jug, a teapot, a butter dish, egg cups and a cup and saucer.
