Pannee Round Glass Baubles - Merlot - Set of 4

A set of four round Christmas baubles in merlot, each 7cm across and 8cm tall to the top of its cap. The glass is a deep wine red with a crackled, mottled surface that takes light unevenly across the sphere, brighter and more speckled towards the top and darker below. Each bauble is capped with a fluted metal collar and a small hanging ring, and hangs from a dark brown ribbon.

At 7cm across these are a middling size: large enough to read from across a room on a full-sized tree, small enough to sit three or four along one branch. The ribbon is long and folds over on itself, so it loops straight over a branch without a hook and drops the bauble clear of the foliage. That suits a garland or a bare branch as much as a tree. With light behind them the crackle in the glass shows most.

The glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed, melted down and blown by hand into a mould to give the round shape. The crackle and the metallic mottling settle differently on every sphere, so the four in a set do not match one another exactly. Pannee is also made as a drop bauble in the same merlot.

How big are they?

7cm across and 8cm tall including the cap. Four come in a set.

How do they hang?

From a ribbon fixed through the ring at the top. It loops over a branch without needing a hook.

Will the four match?

Not exactly. The crackle and the metallic mottling fall differently on each sphere.

Can they be used outdoors?

No. Indoor use only.

How do I look after them?

Wipe any dust away with a dry, soft cloth and handle them with care. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish.
