Pannee Drop Baubles - Merlot - Set of 4

A set of four glass drops, each 8cm long and 5cm across, blown into a pear shape that narrows to a neck at the top and swells into a rounded, softly ribbed body below. The glass is a deep merlot red, and a mottled metallic haze sits across the upper half and the shoulders, breaking into speckles and fine crazing as it runs down. Each drop is capped in matt brass, dark rather than bright, and hangs from a brown velvet ribbon threaded through a ring.

At 8cm long these hang below a branch rather than sitting in among it, and the ribbing under the metallic haze picks up light along the length of each one. Four will space out around the front of a tree, or hang along a garland or a bare branch. The ribbon is long enough to knot straight over a branch without a hook.

The glass is recycled: the waste glass is crushed and melted down, then hand blown into a mould, which is what gives the pear shape and the ribbing. The metallic effect goes on afterwards and breaks up differently on every drop, so the four in a set will not match each other. The Pannee range also holds a round bauble in the same merlot.

How should they be looked after?

Use a dry, soft cloth to take off any dust, and handle them with care. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish. They are for indoor use only.
