Description

A photo frame for an 8 by 10 inch picture, 28.5cm tall and 23.5cm wide overall, with an aperture of 20 by 25cm. The frame is cast aluminium in an antique brass finish and steps inward in tiers from the outer edge down to the glass, so the print sits at the bottom of a deep recess. The casting leaves the surface mottled rather than even, running pale gold on the raised edges and darker brown down in the steps.

It hangs and it stands. The back carries a hanging bracket at the top centre and, below it, a wire strut that folds down to prop the frame up, so the same frame goes on a wall or on a shelf. At 28.5 by 23.5cm it is the larger of the two sizes the Pambani is made in.

The frame is cast aluminium and the front is glass. Each casting takes the finish differently, so the mottling and the depth of tone differ from frame to frame. The Pambani is made in two sizes, this one taking an 8 by 10 inch picture and the smaller one a 5 by 7.
