Description
The Palta is a 9-light linear suspension built around an 876mm horizontal bar from which nine radial arms extend outward, each terminating in a small cup holding an E14 bulb fitting. The entire structure is finished in satin black, a low-sheen matt coating that minimises reflections. The fixture hangs from a rectangular ceiling plate on two black suspension rods, giving the bar a parallel alignment to the ceiling surface.
Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and long narrow spaces where the length of the bar matches the length of the surface below, the Palta provides directional task and ambient light from nine individual sources rather than a single central fitting. The drop is adjustable between 260mm and 1855mm, allowing the bar to be set 700-900mm above a worktop or dining table depending on ceiling height. Each of the nine arms radiates outward from the central bar at different angles, creating asymmetry across the fixture while maintaining overall balance along its length.
The radial arm configuration means that some bulbs direct light upward, some downward, and some horizontally outward from the bar, distributing light in multiple directions rather than focusing it solely downward. This works well when paired with opal or frosted globe bulbs that diffuse light in all directions. The satin black finish pairs with monochrome interiors, dark wood, concrete and steel surfaces, and rooms where black metalwork is a repeated accent. The fixture accepts nine E14 bulbs up to 40W each, sold separately.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Palta take?
The fixture takes nine E14 bulbs (small Edison screw) up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with opal or frosted globe bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to diffuse the light from the radial arms in multiple directions.
What table or island length does it suit?
The 876mm bar length suits kitchen islands or dining tables between 1.6m and 2.2m in length. For tables longer than 2.2m, consider pairing two Palta fittings or choosing a longer suspension.
Is the drop adjustable?
Yes. The drop is adjustable between 260mm and 1855mm on installation. For a kitchen island or dining table, the typical drop positions the bar 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above.
How is the fixture cleaned?
Wipe the satin black metalwork with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the suspension rods or ceiling plate. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishes, which can damage the satin finish.
