Description

This is a set of three stoneware bowls, each 11.5cm across and 6.5cm tall and holding 300ml. They are made of 100% stoneware and finished with a soft marbled swirl that differs from one bowl to the next, so the three belong together without matching exactly. The overall look is multicoloured but gentle, with plenty of calm space between the swirls. Each has a deep, rounded body rising from a small foot, which lifts it neatly off the table. At 300ml this is a small bowl rather than a serving dish: the size for one person's portion, not a salad for everyone.

That size makes them easy to reach for every day. A 300ml bowl takes a breakfast helping of yoghurt and fruit, a modest serving of porridge, a side of soup, or olives and nuts set out before dinner. Having three means a small household can share breakfast from one set, or you can lay out dips and nibbles when friends visit. Stoneware holds heat well, which suits warm puddings and soups.
