Description

The Palani is a three-candle candelabra cast in aluminium, 42cm tall and 22.5cm across the arms. Three stems curve up and outward from a single upright, each ending in a small flared cup, and the cups sit at three different heights rather than level with one another. The upright rises from a round flat foot, and the piece carries an antique brass finish throughout.

This is a table piece. At 42cm before a candle is fitted it stands well clear of a place setting and sits in the line of sight across a table, so it works at the end of a long table, on a sideboard or on a console as readily as down the middle. The arms spread 22.5cm across but the piece is only 11cm front to back, so it takes up very little depth set against a wall. It takes three dinner candles.

The candelabra is aluminium. It is sand cast: molten metal is poured into a cavity packed in sand, and the sand is broken away once the metal has cooled to release the shape, which is taken from spring flowers. The Palani is also made as a larger five-candle design. Candles are not included.

Frequently Asked

How many candles does it hold?

Three. Each cup takes a dinner candle.

Is it sold singly?

Yes. This is one candelabra.

Is there a larger one?

Yes, a larger Palani that holds five candles.

How do I get the wax out of the cups?

Wash them with warm water and a mild dish soap after each use so wax does not build up. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish.

Does it get hot in use?

Yes. Stand each candle securely, keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
