Description

The Ovila is a 5 light cluster pendant with hand-blown ribbed glass globes in two tones — three in smoked grey, two in cognac amber — suspended on adjustable cables from a chrome ceiling canopy. Each globe houses an E27 bulb fitting (bulbs included), and the ribbed glass surface creates linear light patterns when lit, amplifying the visual presence of each globe.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.4-3m, the Ovila's cables can be adjusted individually between 75cm and 250cm drop, allowing the cluster to be configured as a tight group or a staggered cascade. The 60cm diameter ceiling plate accommodates the five cable exits and houses the integrated driver. The mixed glass tones give tonal variation when lit — the cognac globes cast a warmer amber glow, while the smoked grey diffuses cooler light.

The integrated TRIAC and 0-10V driver supports standard UK LED dimmer switches for smooth brightness control without flicker. The ribbed surface of each globe is hand-blown, so minor variations in the rib spacing and glass thickness occur between individual pieces. The 9.5kg combined weight requires secure ceiling fixing — the canopy includes gravity toggles for flush mounting to plasterboard or solid ceilings. IP20 rating restricts the Ovila to dry indoor locations only.

Yes. The Ovila includes five E27 LED bulbs rated at 20W each. These are non-replaceable integrated LED modules rather than standard screw-in bulbs, so replacement requires changing the entire globe assembly if an LED fails.

Can the cable lengths be adjusted after installation?

The cables are adjustable between 75cm and 250cm drop during installation. Once set and locked in place, adjusting them again requires accessing the canopy and re-feeding the cables, which is possible but not a trivial task on a ceiling-mounted fitting.

Is the Ovila dimmable?

Yes. The integrated driver supports both TRIAC and 0-10V dimming protocols, making it compatible with most standard UK LED wall dimmers. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED loads to avoid flicker or buzzing.

What ceiling height works best?

The Ovila suits rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m. For a kitchen island or dining table, set the lowest globe approximately 70-80cm above the surface, which typically places the canopy at 2.5-2.7m ceiling height depending on how the cables are configured.
