Description

The Otas is a deep armchair upholstered in cotton boucle, the looped teddy weave that gives it its name, in an off white. The arms are rolled, the back rises behind them in a low scroll, and the seat is one loose cushion with a small bolster standing against the back. It sits on four turned mango wood feet that are left bare.

At 94cm wide and 84cm deep this is a wide chair for one, and it takes the corner of a room beside a lamp. The seat stands at 52cm and runs 67cm deep, so it is made to be sat back in rather than perched on, and the depth leaves room to sit with both feet up. As an occasional chair it fills a corner that a two seater would take over.

The upholstery is cotton and the base is solid mango wood. The boucle is worked from cotton yarn, so the surface is looped and springy rather than smooth, and it weighs 30kg all in. The Otas ottoman is made in the same weave and the same off white.
