Description

The Opaz is a 4-light bar pendant from Schuller with four smoked glass globes suspended from a 109cm matt black bar, each globe housing an E27 bulb. The smoked glass graduates from a darker tone at the top to a lighter, more translucent base, allowing the bulb filament to show through at the lower portion while the upper half provides softer diffusion. Four E27 8W dimmable LED bulbs are included with the fitting.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas where a horizontal spread of light is needed, the Opaz bar spans 109cm and positions the four globes in a linear arrangement. The height is adjustable between 35cm and 130cm from ceiling to the base of the globes, allowing the pendant to be set higher in rooms with tall ceilings or lowered to 600-800mm above a dining surface. The matt black bar and smoked glass suit contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors.

Each glass globe is moulded rather than hand-blown, giving consistency across the four shades while the gradient still shows natural variation in density. The smoked finish reduces glare from the bulbs and casts a warmer, more diffused light downward compared to clear glass. The fitting carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use and is Class 1 earthed. Gravity toggles are supplied for ceiling mounting, and the adjustable cable runs allow individual globe heights to be levelled during installation.

Yes. The Opaz includes four E27 8W dimmable LED bulbs in the box. These are warm-white bulbs suitable for dining and living areas.

Is the Opaz dimmable?

Yes. The included LED bulbs are dimmable. Pair the fitting with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer for smooth dimming performance.

What height above a dining table is recommended?

The pendant is typically set 70-80cm above a dining table surface. The adjustable drop allows installation between 35cm and 130cm from ceiling to globe base, so ceiling heights from 2.4m upward can be accommodated comfortably.

What length dining table does the 109cm bar suit?

The 109cm bar works well over dining tables between 150-200cm in length. For shorter tables the four-globe spread may appear too wide, while tables over 220cm might benefit from two bar pendants installed side by side.
