Description

We stock the Onda in black as a compact recessed downlight for direct ceiling installation. It is a cylindrical aluminium fixture with an integrated 12W LED, and it sits into a ceiling cut-out so only the black bezel and frosted white diffuser lens show from below. The light comes through the diffuser in a wide 120 degree spread for even, general room lighting.

We use it for everyday lighting in living rooms, hallways, kitchens and bedrooms, where the 120 degree beam gives broad ambient cover without a bright hotspot directly underneath. The black aluminium bezel settles neatly into both white and dark-painted ceilings, and the IP20 rating suits standard dry indoor rooms. It runs on 220-240V AC mains.

The LED is dimmable on most trailing-edge LED dimmers (sold separately), so you can take it from full brightness down to a soft glow. Its 90 CRI rating renders colour more accurately than a standard 80 CRI LED, which helps in kitchens, dressing areas and rooms with art or photographs on the walls. Spring clips on either side hold the fitting firmly in the cut-out, and the aluminium body helps carry heat away from the driver.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 12W LED dims on a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer (sold separately), so you can set it from full brightness down to a soft glow.

How does it fit into the ceiling?

It is recessed into a ceiling cut-out and held by the spring clips on either side, which grip the board so the downlight sits into the ceiling with only the black bezel and diffuser showing.

Which rooms is it suitable for?

It is rated IP20 for standard dry indoor rooms such as living rooms, hallways, kitchens and bedrooms. The 90 CRI output renders colour accurately, which helps in kitchens and dressing areas. We would not fit it in a shower zone or other wet area.

Do I need to buy a separate bulb?

No. The LED is built in, so there is no separate bulb to buy. It runs on 220-240V AC mains and is fixed rather than replaceable, like most integrated LED downlights.
