Description

We stock the Onda 120mm in black as a surface-mounted LED ceiling spotlight for accent lighting. It has an integrated 18W LED giving 1370 lumens of warm white 3000K light in a wide 120 degree spread, all housed in a matt black aluminium drum on a low-profile ceiling plate. There is no bulb to buy and nothing recessed to fit, so it sits neatly on the surface of the ceiling rather than being sunk into it.

We reach for the Onda in living rooms, hallways and gallery-style spaces where you want to pick out artwork, a feature wall or a particular corner. The lamp head pivots and tilts on its plate, so once it is up you can angle the beam onto whatever you want lit and adjust it later if you move things around. Because it is surface-mounted it works well on solid ceilings, in period homes with lath-and-plaster, and in rentals where cutting in recessed downlights is not an option.

The 18W LED is not dimmable and runs on 220-240V AC mains at 50Hz. Its 90 CRI rating renders colours faithfully, which is why we like it over art and textiles where accurate colour matters. It carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use only, sits in energy class F, and the matt black aluminium finish reads as near-anthracite in daylight and softer charcoal once it is lit.

Frequently Asked

How does it fix to the ceiling?

It is surface-mounted. The ceiling plate fixes onto the surface of a standard UK ceiling, so there is no need to cut in or recess anything, which makes it a good fit for solid ceilings, period homes and rentals. We would have it wired in by a qualified electrician.

Can I dim it?

No. The integrated 18W LED is not dimmable, so it is best where you want a fixed, steady level of accent or task light rather than a variable one.

Can the light be angled?

Yes. The lamp head pivots and tilts on the ceiling plate, so you can direct the 120 degree beam onto artwork, a feature wall or a specific zone, and re-aim it later if your layout changes.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. We would keep it to living rooms, hallways and similar spaces.
