Description
A towel ring in stainless steel, 21cm from the top of the wall plate to the bottom of the ring and 18cm across. The plate is a small rounded rectangle with a screw hole at each end, and the ring hangs from a lug on the plate rather than being fixed solid to it. The ring is a plain circle of round section metal with a surface that shifts in and out of true. The antique brass finish is warm where the light catches it and darker in the hollows.
It goes beside a basin or next to a shower, at whatever height suits the towel, and the plate takes a screw at each end. The ring stands 4.5cm off the wall. The ring takes a towel, which hangs well below it. The stainless steel carries a lacquer, which is what lets it stand moisture and steam.
The ring is stainless steel, cast by the traditional sandcast method: a mould is prepared from sand, the steel is heated until it liquifies and poured in, and the cast piece is taken out once it has cooled. The casting comes out irregular, with a rough surface and patches of organic patination, so no two rings are quite alike. The piece is then treated with an antique brass finish. The Olani range also holds bathroom hooks, a toilet roll holder, a bathroom shelf and two hanging rails.

Frequently Asked
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
Yes. It is made for bathroom use, and the lacquer on the stainless steel resists moisture and steam.
How is it fixed?
Through the wall plate, which has a screw hole at each end.
How far does it stand off the wall?
4.5cm.
Why is the surface uneven?
It is sandcast. Molten steel is poured into a sand mould, and the casting comes out irregular with a rough surface and patches of patination, so no two are the same.
What else is in the range?
Bathroom hooks, a toilet roll holder, a bathroom shelf and two hanging rails.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it regularly with a soft dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which may damage the finish.
