Description

The Olaia is a 13cm cylindrical pendant light from Schuller featuring a dual-layer amber glass shade suspended from a matt black ceiling canopy. An integrated 6W LED sits inside the inner white glass cylinder, diffusing 3000K warm white light through the outer amber glass layer, which casts a golden-toned glow into the space below.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and bedside positions, the Olaia suits rooms where a compact pendant provides focused task light without blocking sightlines across the space. The adjustable cable allows a drop between 20cm and 100cm, meaning the pendant can be set 60-70cm above a kitchen worktop or 70-80cm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. Multiple Olaia pendants can be installed in a row above longer island units.

The amber glass is heat-treated to produce a consistent golden tone that remains stable under LED output and doesn't fade over time. The matt black canopy and cable give a neutral contrast against the warm glass, allowing the pendant to work in both warm-toned and cooler grey-based interiors. At 0.56kg the fitting is light enough to install on a standard ceiling rose without additional bracing. The IP20 rating limits the Olaia to dry indoor locations only.

Does the Olaia come with a bulb?

Yes. The Olaia has an integrated 6W GX53 LED rated at 660 lumens and 3000K warm white. The LED is not user-replaceable but has a rated lifespan of approximately 25,000 hours.

Can the cable length be adjusted after installation?

The cable is adjustable between 20cm and 100cm drop during installation. Once the excess cable is concealed inside the canopy and the pendant is fixed in place, further adjustment requires removing the canopy and re-threading the cable.

Can the Olaia be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is suitable for dry indoor locations only and does not carry protection against moisture or splashing water. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoors.

How do I clean the amber glass?

Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the outer glass with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with plain water, then dry immediately. Avoid household glass cleaners, sprays or abrasive materials that may damage the glass finish.
