Description
The Oko is a glass bauble 15cm across, blown by hand and finished in a matt gold that pools and mottles over the surface instead of running flat, with darker flecks and patches of patina through it. The cap is dark antiqued iron, domed, with a pattern cast into the top and a heavy ring above it. A strip of printed fabric is threaded through the ring to hang it by.
At 15cm across and 0.41kg it needs a branch strong enough to take it, and it will carry that branch on its own rather than sitting among smaller decorations. Away from a tree the same bauble sits in a bowl or on a mantelpiece, or hangs singly from a curtain pole or a door. This is the smaller of the two sizes; the other is 20cm.
The glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected and washed to take out impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown by hand, and that is what produces the irregular mottled patterning, so no two baubles carry the same markings. The cap and the ring are iron. The Oko giant bauble is made in matt gold, matt green, matt bordeaux and matt teal, each in both sizes.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
15cm across, and it weighs 0.41kg.
What is the cap made of?
Iron, antiqued dark, with a pattern cast into the dome and a heavy ring above it.
Is the glass recycled?
Yes. The waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown.
Will every bauble look the same?
Not exactly. The mottled patterning comes out of the blowing, so the markings differ on every bauble.
How do I look after it?
It is for indoor use only. Use a dry, soft cloth to take off any dust that builds up, and handle it carefully. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish.
