Description

A glass Christmas bauble 15cm across, in a matt bordeaux that darkens and mottles over the sphere rather than sitting flat. Darker flecks and patches lie under the surface in loose bands, so the colour shifts from one side of the bauble to the other. The neck is closed with a patterned iron collar and a hanging ring, and a printed fabric tie loops through the ring.

At 15cm across and 0.41kg this is not a decoration for the outer branches. On a full sized tree it wants a branch close to the trunk, where the wood is thick enough to carry it. The tie is long enough to loop straight over a branch, a beam or a curtain pole without a hook.

The bauble is recycled glass with an iron collar. Waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown by hand, which is where the irregular mottling comes from, so no two spheres carry the same pattern. The Oko giant baubles run in two sizes, 15cm and 20cm, and in four colours: bordeaux, green, gold and teal.

Yes. It is blown from waste glass that has been collected, washed, crushed and melted down.

What other colours are there?

Four in all: bordeaux, green, gold and teal, each made in both sizes.

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth to lift any dust that builds up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the finish. It is for indoor use only.
