Oko Mini Drop Glass Baubles - Mixed - Set of 12

Twelve small glass baubles, each 3cm tall and 2cm across, blown into a fluted drop. The ridges run from a dark metal cap at the top down to a soft point at the base, and the glass is deeply coloured, so the ridges hold the light while the grooves between them stay dark. The twelve come in a mix of amber, red, teal and plum, and each hangs from its own sari tie. No two ties are the same.

At 3cm these are the smallest decorations on a tree, and twelve of them read as a scatter rather than as a feature. They fill the gaps on a dressed tree where a larger bauble would crowd the branch, and a few will dress a wreath or the places at a Christmas table. Each tie is long enough to loop straight over a branch without a hook.

The glass is recycled and every bauble is blown by hand, which leaves the irregular mottled patterning that makes no two alike. The caps are dark metal with a wire loop set into them. The Oko range runs from these up through 6cm and 7.5cm baubles to giant baubles at 15cm and 20cm, and also holds a bauble garland and a set of mini stars.

How many baubles are in the set?

Twelve, each on its own sari tie.

How big is each one?

3cm tall and 2cm across.

Is the glass recycled?

Yes. The waste glass is collected and washed to remove any impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is hand blown, and that is what creates the irregular mottled patterning on every bauble.

Will the twelve be the same?

Not exactly. Each sari tie is one of a kind, so no two are alike.

How do I look after them?

Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe away any dust that builds up, and handle them carefully. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they will damage the finish. They are for indoor use only.
