Description

The large Oko giant bauble is a hand blown glass sphere 20cm across. The matt green surface carries a heavy rust freckling that gathers in drifts rather than spreading evenly, and the colour turns towards gold where the light runs across the curve. The top is capped with a plain metal collar carrying a round ring, and a long printed fabric tie runs through it.

At 20cm across this is the larger of the two Oko giants; the other is 15cm. On a tree it needs a strong branch close to the trunk, because at 0.61kg it will pull a thin one down. Off the tree the long tie lets it hang well below a bannister rail, a beam or a curtain pole, and at this size one on its own is enough in a doorway or a window.

The glass is recycled, collected as waste, washed to remove impurities, then crushed, melted down and blown by hand; the mottled patterning is a product of that process rather than anything applied afterwards. The collar is iron. Matt gold, matt bordeaux and matt teal are made in the same two sizes.
