Description

The Offset for Electric Cable is a small lighting accessory that changes where a pendant hangs. It takes the electric cable from the point where it leaves the ceiling and holds it at a second point, so the light drops where you want it rather than where the ceiling outlet happens to be. It is a neat, compact piece: a round disc that sits flat against the ceiling, a short, slim cylinder beneath it and a clear clamp at its foot that grips the line hanging down. It measures 4.2cm by 2cm, so it reads as a quiet detail rather than a second fitting, and it comes in white or black.

We suggest it wherever the ceiling point and the place you want the light do not line up: a pendant brought over the centre of a dining table, a reading light moved across to an armchair, or a light shifted to the middle of a hallway or bedroom when the original point sits off to one side. It is for indoor use only, and as it carries no IP rating it belongs in dry rooms. Choose white to sit quietly against a pale ceiling, or black where you want it to match a dark cable or a darker ceiling.

Its construction is simple and easy to read: a smooth, plain disc and cylinder in the finish you choose, with a clear clamp that lets the line pass through without drawing the eye. It is an accessory rather than a light, so it gives no light of its own; it simply carries the cable of a pendant.
