Description
The Norfolk is a 2270mm outdoor lamp post with three lantern heads, each fitted with hand-leaded glass panels constructed from five individual pieces of glass soldered into a metal frame. The black powder-coated aluminium column stands on a rectangular base, with three scrolled arms branching from the top to hold the lanterns. Each lantern takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving a combined maximum output of 180W across the three heads.
Designed for driveways, front gardens and larger courtyard areas, the Norfolk provides 360-degree light distribution from its 2.2m height. The IP44 rating protects the electrical components against rain and splashing water, making the post suitable for year-round outdoor installation in exposed positions. The three-lantern configuration spreads light over a wider area than single-head posts, reducing the number of posts needed along a driveway or path run.
The hand-leaded glass panels diffuse direct bulb glare while allowing enough light through for practical path and driveway illumination. The black finish over the aluminium column and lantern frames resists corrosion in wet coastal and industrial environments. The 600mm width at the top allows the three lanterns to sit clear of each other without overlap, and the scrolled metalwork between the column and lantern arms references Victorian street lighting design.
Installation requires setting the rectangular base into a concrete foundation or fixing it to an existing hard surface with anchor bolts. The post is wired through the hollow column from the base upwards, with cable connections made inside the lantern housings. Elstead Lighting covers the Norfolk with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Norfolk takes three E27 bulbs, one per lantern head, with a maximum rating of 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K for outdoor path lighting that matches traditional incandescent tones.
How is it installed?
The rectangular base must be set into a concrete foundation or bolted to an existing hard surface using anchor fixings. The post is hollow, allowing mains cable to be run up from ground level to the lantern connections at the top. Professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended for mains outdoor wiring.
Is it weatherproof?
Yes. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing water from any direction. The black powder-coated aluminium finish resists corrosion in wet environments. The hand-leaded glass panels are weatherproofed with outdoor-grade solder and sealant.
What coverage area does it provide?
From its 2270mm height, the three lanterns provide 360-degree light distribution suitable for illuminating a driveway width of 3-4 metres or a courtyard area of approximately 20-25 square metres, depending on bulb brightness and colour temperature chosen.
