Description

This tall candle holder is made entirely of mango wood, turned into a slender column that swells towards its lower half and finishes in a stack of ridged collars at the top and the foot. A shallow, rimmed round top holds a pillar candle, and a broad, flat base carries the whole piece. It is 12cm long, 12cm wide and 31cm tall and weighs 0.75KG, so it has real presence on a shelf yet is light enough to move from room to room whenever needed. The colour is natural: the wood is left unpainted, with its grain on show from top to base.

At 31cm this is a holder for height. On a mantelpiece, a sideboard or a hallway console it lifts the flame well clear of the surface, and down the middle of a dining table it gives the setting a tall point of light.
