Description

The Noko flush fitting is a flattened globe of open woven rattan, wider than it is deep, with a round brass plate on top that fixes straight to the ceiling. The weave is loose enough to see through: flat rattan strips run round the body in close rings over upright stakes, with clear gaps left between them. There is no chain and no drop. It is 32cm deep and 44cm across.

Because the weave is open the light does two things at once. Straight down it lights the room, and out through the gaps it throws the pattern of the weave onto the ceiling as a fan of fine stripes that reaches well past the shade itself. With nothing hanging below the plate it clears a low ceiling, and it goes where a pendant would be in the way, along a landing or a hallway. It takes one E27 bulb up to 40W, it is suitable for use with a dimmer switch, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The shade is rattan, woven by hand, so the rings are not evenly spaced and the strips vary in width and tone. The ceiling plate is brass. The Noko range also holds three wicker pendants, two rattan table lamps and a rattan wall light. Bulbs are not included.
