Description
The Kichler Nocar is a 560mm tall outdoor wall light with a vertical box-section profile finished in matt black, housing an integrated 20W LED that casts warm 3000K light both upwards and downwards from behind the central mounting plate. The two illuminated bars create ambient wash light against the wall surface rather than directing a beam outward, making the Nocar effective for highlighting texture on stone, timber cladding or render.
Designed for exterior installation on modern residential and commercial buildings, the Nocar suits porches, courtyard walls, garage elevations and garden feature walls where vertical accent lighting is needed. The narrow 127mm width fits into architectural recesses and tight spaces between structural elements, while the IP44 rating provides protection against rain and moisture ingress. The fixture mounts flush to the wall via a concealed bracket, with the two LED bars projecting 90mm from the surface.
The matt black powder-coated finish absorbs daylight, keeping the fitting visually recessive until switched on after dark. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light that complements warm-toned materials and creates contrast against cooler greys and whites in contemporary colour schemes. The integrated LED eliminates the need for bulb replacement, with the 20W output providing sufficient light to define pathways and entrances without creating glare.

Frequently Asked
Is this suitable for coastal or exposed locations?
The Nocar carries an IP44 rating, which protects against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm. This makes it suitable for covered porches, courtyard walls and garden elevations in most UK climates. For direct coastal exposure with salt spray, consider upgrading to a fitting with IP65 or marine-grade construction.
What does the IP44 rating mean?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against water splashing from any direction. It's safe for outdoor use under eaves, on covered porches, and on open walls that receive rain but not high-pressure water jets.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED module is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 10-15 years of typical evening operation.
Does it need a separate driver or transformer?
No. The Nocar connects directly to 230V mains supply. The driver is built into the fitting, so no external transformer or control gear is needed during installation.
