This is a set of six wooden nutcracker soldiers made to hang on the Christmas tree, each one 13cm tall, 4.5cm long and 4cm wide. They are made from pine and MDF and painted grey, with painted faces, moustaches and tufted beards that make a nutcracker recognisable at a glance. The characters vary across the set: some wear crowns, some wear tall hats topped with a star, one stands in a towering bearskin-style hat and another carries a drum and sticks. Others hold a sabre or a staff at their side, so the six read like a small parade rather than copies of one ornament.
