Description

A quilted bedspread, 220 by 240cm, with a cotton velvet face in sage green and a natural linen back. It is quilted right through in close rows of Kantha running stitch, worked by hand, which pulls the velvet into fine ridges across the whole surface, and a contrast stitch finishes the reverse. With a corner turned back both sides show, green one way and cream the other.

At 220 by 240cm the bedspread covers a king bed with a drop at both sides, and on a super king it can be turned through ninety degrees for a longer drape. Laid across the foot of a bed, the sage reads soft and slightly grey in daylight. It weighs 4.1kg.

The face is cotton velvet and the back is natural linen. The Kantha quilting is sewn by hand rather than machined. The Nidra bedspread is made in two sizes, and in sage green, natural, dusty pink, rust, charcoal and moss.
