Description
The Nick is a round recessed LED downlight in a white finish, a small, tidy fitting set into the ceiling. A slim white ring frames a black interior, leaving a neat circle overhead. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 9W and gives 609lm or 632lm, depending on the version, with a CRI of 90, so colours look natural under it, and a 38° beam that lays down a focused pool of light. We offer it in 2700K or 3000K: choose 2700K for a warmer glow or 3000K for a slightly crisper white. It measures 7cm across and 8.3cm tall, with a 5.9cm opening.
We think it suits a kitchen ceiling best, set in rows over an island or along a run of units where you want clear light to work by. The 38° beam is fairly focused, so spacing matters: set the downlights closer together for a more even spread across a worktop, or further apart for separate pools of light. The white finish sits quietly against a white ceiling, so a row of them reads as a set of small circles rather than a cluster of fittings. It is rated IP43, so keep it clear of anywhere it could be splashed.
The Nick is wired in to the mains by an electrician, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. It needs a 6.4cm cut-out in the ceiling, and with a body 8.3cm tall, check there is that much depth in the void before you order. It is a Class III fitting. One practical note: decide on 2700K or 3000K for the whole room when you order, and keep every downlight in that room to the same choice so the light matches from one to the next.
