Description

The Niche is a 61cm diameter LED ring pendant light with an integrated 31W 3000K LED strip behind an opal rubber diffuser, mounted in a powder-coated white metal frame. The light is suspended on steel cables from a matching white ceiling bracket, with the drop adjustable up to 2150mm to suit different ceiling heights and hanging positions.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallway installations where a single suspended ring provides both task and ambient light, the 61cm diameter suits rooms where a larger ring would overwhelm the space. The 20mm depth of the ring frame and the cable suspension system mean the fitting projects a minimal visual footprint from the side, keeping sightlines open underneath. The opal rubber diffuser spreads the LED light evenly around the ring, eliminating hotspots and harsh shadows on surfaces directly below.

The white powder-coated metal finish pairs with white ceilings and minimalist interiors, while the transparent PVC cable sheath keeps the electrical run unobtrusive against light-coloured ceilings. The 3000K colour temperature delivers warm white light that suits residential dining and kitchen spaces, and the IP20 rating confirms indoor-only use. The non-dimmable integrated LED runs on 230V mains with no external driver needed.

Is the Niche dimmable?

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 31W output on 230V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches. If dimming is needed, consider a different model in the Ideal Lux range with dimmable driver specification.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2150mm cable allows the ring to be suspended at varying heights depending on ceiling height and application. For a dining table the ring typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, which suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The cable can be shortened during installation for lower ceilings.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating confirms indoor dry-location use only. The fitting is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or any location where moisture or steam is present.

What size table or island does the 61cm ring suit?

The 61cm diameter works above tables or islands between 90cm and 140cm wide. For larger islands or dining tables, Ideal Lux offers the Niche in 90cm and 120cm diameters, both available at Niori.
