Ngolo Medium Recycled Glass Tealight Holder - Amber

The medium Ngolo stands 13cm tall and 13cm across, a bowed cylinder with a rounded base and a rim left slightly out of true. The upper two thirds are a warm amber, matt and frosted rather than clear, with a pale bloom drifting over the surface. Below a soft grey band the glass turns cream, and rust runs down out of that band in fine vertical streaks that reach about halfway to the foot.

Lit from inside, the frosted wall spreads the flame so the amber reads as a broad glow rather than a point of light, and the cream below it stays dark. Grouped on a table with the other two sizes, the medium stands at the back where its height carries above them. On its own it suits a sideboard, a windowsill or the end of a mantelpiece, anywhere it is seen from the side rather than looked down into.

Each holder is worked by hand from recycled glass, so the streaks of rust fall in different places and run to different lengths on every one. The medium sits between the 9cm and the 16cm in the Ngolo range, which is also made in an aged smoke. A tealight is not included.

Is the glass clear?

No. The surface is matt and frosted, so a lit tealight reads as a spread glow rather than a bright point.

Is the glass recycled?

Yes. Each one is worked by hand from recycled glass.

How do I look after it?

Wash it with a mild dish soap and warm water after every use so that wax does not gather in the base. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.

Does it get hot in use?

Yes. Set the tealight down securely so the flame is not against the glass, keep it away from children, let it cool fully before moving it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
