Description

The Nettlecote three light pendant sets clear glass shades within an open brushed aged brass frame, 420mm across, on a drop that adjusts between 450mm and 1550mm. The open frame is the character of it: you see through the fitting rather than at it, so the glass and the lamps do the work while the metal draws the outline. Three E14 LED lamps at 7W each light it, and at 10.2kg it is solidly built for its size.

420mm is a manageable width, which makes this the Nettlecote for a smaller dining table, a hall, a landing or a bedroom where a wider fitting would overwhelm the ceiling. The clear glass keeps the light bright and the open frame stops it feeling bulky in a room with an ordinary ceiling height. In a hall it has the advantage of reading light and open from the stairs, where a solid drum shade would block the view. It is dimmable with compatible LED lamps and a dimmer switch, so the same ceiling light covers a bright morning and a low evening. We would choose this size for a round table or a smaller square one.

The frame is metal in brushed aged brass, matt and softly darkened rather than polished, so it does not show every mark. The glass shades come away for washing in warm water and should be dried fully before refitting. Given the 10.2kg weight, the fixing wants to go into a joist or a proper ceiling support, and wiring is a job for a qualified electrician. A larger five light Nettlecote and a matching wall light carry the same frame and glass.
