Description

Our Neri bowl is a round stoneware bowl, 14.5cm across and 7.5cm tall, with fine vertical ribs running all the way round the outside, from the small foot up to the rim. The inside is smooth, so the ribbing is something you feel in the hand rather than under the spoon. It is black, finished in a shimmering glaze, and it holds 700ml, which makes it a deep, generous bowl for a proper portion rather than a little dish for nuts or dips.

That 700ml suits the meals that need depth: soup, porridge, breakfast cereal with plenty of milk, a bowl of noodles in broth or a salad for one. It is a bowl for every day at the kitchen table, and a few together make a calm, dark table for a supper with friends, where the black sets off the colour of the food. Between meals it looks good on an open kitchen shelf, where the light falls across the ribs and picks out their texture, and it makes a handsome home for fruit on a worktop.
