Description

The large Naryla is 23cm tall and 25cm across. A clear glass dome, blown to the shape of a bulb with a short open neck, drops into a circular groove cut in the top of a thick turned mango wood base, and the glass stands in that groove rather than resting on the flat. Inside it a second dish, turned in the same wood, stands and takes the candle; the floor of that dish is a darker rust brown than the wood around it.

The large size takes a small pillar candle, where the smaller Naryla is sized for a tealight. At 25cm across it needs the depth of a sideboard, a hearth or a wide table rather than a narrow shelf. It is for indoor use.

The glass is recycled and the base is mango wood. The base on this size is cut thick and the figure runs right through it, so a dark streak or a knot shows on one and not on the next. The inner dish is a separate turned piece that stands inside the glass. Naryla is made in two sizes. The candle is not included.

A soft dry cloth on the wood, and a microfibre cloth used in a circular motion on the glass. For wax, warm water with a mild dish soap, dried immediately and never left to soak. Edible oil worked into the wood will protect it and darken its tone.

Can it go outside?

No. It is for indoor use.
