Description
The Narwana is a bar stool with a back, built on a single iron column that rises from a round disc foot. The seat is 70cm from the floor and carries ribbed leather stitched into horizontal bands, with a shaped back panel above it on an iron bracket. A ring footrest circles the column part way up. The leather is a deep aged black and the ironwork is dark to match it.
The seat is 70cm from the floor, which puts it at bar height rather than counter height. The ring footrest gives the feet somewhere to rest once the seat is that high, and the panel above the seat gives a back to lean on. At 41cm wide and 43cm deep the stool takes little floor, so two or three will run along a counter without crowding one another. One draws up to a bar.
The frame is iron, forged and welded, and the upholstery is buffalo leather. The hide is a by-product of buffalo farming, from herds tended by local herders, and it is dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark, so the colour goes on enriching with age. The Narwana bar stool is also made in aged tan and in rich green, and the range runs to an armchair, a lounger, a desk chair, foot stools and round stools.

Frequently Asked
How high is the seat?
70cm from the floor. The stool is 103cm tall overall, to the top of the back.
Does it have a back?
Yes, a shaped panel above the seat on an iron bracket.
What colours is the bar stool made in?
Aged black, aged tan and rich green.
What is the leather?
Buffalo hide, a by-product of buffalo farming. It is dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark, so the colour deepens with age.
How do I look after the leather?
Wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth and keep chemicals and household cleaners away from the finish. Feed the hide now and then with a specialist leather product, or with petroleum jelly or flax oil, so it does not dry out and crack.
