Description
A bar stool on a single iron pedestal, 103cm to the top of the back, with a padded seat and a curved back panel both covered in aged tan goat leather. The leather is stitched into channels that run front to back across the seat and top to bottom down the back, and the seat is dished, with the front edge rolled over. The column stands on a heavy round disc and carries a circular iron footrest ring, and the iron is left dark and rough rather than smoothly painted.
The footrest ring sits 25cm from the floor, which puts the stool at a raised counter or a bar rather than at a dining table. On the floor it takes up 41 by 43cm and stands on one column instead of four legs, so there is nothing at the corners to catch a foot on. A pair stands at a kitchen island with the backs turned into the room, and the stool will carry up to 160kg.
The seat and back are goat leather over padding, coloured with natural dyes, and everything below them is iron. The leather is finished to look worn from the start, so the tone shifts across the panels, the stitched channels take the colour unevenly, and it will go on changing with use. The same bar stool is made in aged black and in rich green.

Frequently Asked
How high is the footrest?
25cm from the floor, running right round the column as a ring.
What leather is it?
Goat leather, coloured with natural dyes, over a padded seat and back.
How much weight will it take?
Up to 160kg.
What colours is it made in?
Three: aged tan, aged black and rich green.
How should the leather be looked after?
Wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth and keep chemicals and household cleaners off it. To stop the leather drying out and cracking, feed it with a specialist leather product, petroleum jelly or flax oil.
