Description

The Nans Sphere S/60 Outrack is an outdoor track pendant light: an open woven sphere 60cm across and 57cm tall, hanging on a suspension length of 200cm. Its shade is the Beige Shade (with Light Blue and Light Grey), a lattice of synthetic fibre on a Brown structure, and the light is built from stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic fibre. It uses an integrated 15W LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and with a CRI of 90, faces, food and planting look true to colour under it. It comes in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K, giving 393 or 412 lumens depending on the version.

Rated IP54, it is made for outdoor use: over a dining table on a terrace, along a covered walkway, or above seating on a patio or in a garden, where a softly glowing sphere suits an evening outside better than a bright floodlight. At 60cm across it has real presence, so it is happiest where there is space around it. It is part of the Outrack range, a 24V DC track system, and it does not work on its own. It needs the Outrack track it fits, sold separately, which carries the power and holds the pendant, and an Outrack 24V power supply for the track, also sold separately, which turns the mains supply into the 24V DC the track runs on.

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so a passing shower is no cause for concern. It is a Class III fitting, powered from the mains through its track at 24V DC rather than at mains voltage. The track and its power supply are for a qualified electrician to install. When choosing, pick 2700K for the warmest, most candle-like glow on a summer evening, or 3000K for a slightly whiter light that still feels warm.
