Description

The Nans Sphere PF/80 is a woven LED outdoor ceiling light: a large globe of woven synthetic fibre, 80cm across and 76cm tall, held on a rigid 25cm stem so it stands 101cm tall overall. The structure is Graphite Brown and the shade is Brown (with Beige and Light Grey), a criss-cross weave that lets warm light glow through its open pattern. Inside is a 24W integrated LED giving 722 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a CRI of 90, so timber, stone and planting keep their true colours after dark. Because the LED is integrated, there is no bulb to buy or change.

This is a light for outside. It is rated IP54, so it suits outdoor use, and it belongs on the ceiling of a porch, veranda, covered terrace or loggia, where one generous woven sphere fills the space overhead. At 80cm across it wants room around it and clear height beneath, so think of a wide porch or a terrace where you eat outdoors rather than a narrow passage. It is TRIAC dimmable, so on a compatible dimmer you can run it bright for a meal with friends and bring it down to a low glow later in the evening.

It is made of stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic fibre, with the fibre woven into the shade and the Graphite Brown stem and round ceiling plate kept slim and plain, so the sphere takes the eye. Brown (with Beige and Light Grey) is an earthy mix that sits comfortably against brick, render and wood. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in, so it is for a qualified electrician to install, and as a Class I fitting it is an earthed light. Before you choose it, we would measure the height under your porch or terrace ceiling: the light is 101cm tall overall, and it deserves that much room to sit in.
