Description

The Nalgora is a wine and champagne bucket: a wide aluminium bowl 41cm across, standing on a turned pedestal foot. The outside carries an etched grid of small squares that runs from just below the rolled rim, down over the belly of the bowl and onto the upper part of the foot, set close enough together to read as a texture rather than a pattern. The inside is left plain. The whole piece is finished in antique brass.

It holds 14,500ml, which takes two bottles lying at an angle with the ice packed around them and room still to spare. At 26.5cm high and 41cm across it takes up a good part of a sideboard or the top of a drinks trolley, so it is a bucket to set out for a table of people rather than one to leave standing on a kitchen counter. The foot raises the bowl clear of the surface underneath it.

The bucket is aluminium under an antique brass finish, and it is food safe. The etched decoration runs across every piece in the Nalgora range, which also holds an ice bucket and a wine cooler. Empty, it weighs 1.08kg.
