Description

The Nahan is a knitted cotton throw, 130cm by 200cm, worked in a loose moss stitch so the face breaks into small raised knots instead of running flat. The colour is a warm rust that holds the same depth across the whole piece. The edges are finished plain, with no fringe and no border.

At 130cm by 200cm it is long enough to lie across the foot of a bed, or to fold over the arm of a sofa and still reach a lap. Over the back and arm of a two seat sofa the rust reads warm against pale linen. At 1.55kg it has enough weight in it to stay where it is put rather than slide off.

The throw is cotton throughout, and the yarn is dyed before it is knitted, so the colour sits in the strand rather than on the surface. The knit stands about 1cm thick. The moss stitch is worked loose, which is what gives the surface both its texture and its give. The Nahan throw is also made in stone and in forest green.
