Description

The Nahan is a knitted cotton throw, 130 by 200cm, worked in moss stitch: a loose all-over texture in which each stitch sits against the grain of the one beside it, so the surface reads as a fine repeating bobble rather than as rows. The yarn is dyed before it is knitted. The stone colour is a pale warm grey with no pattern in it, and the edges are finished flat, with no fringe and no bound border.

At 130 by 200cm it is long enough to run the length of a two seater sofa and wide enough to cover one person lying under it. It weighs 1.55kg, so it is a heavy throw rather than a light cover, and the knit sits thick over whatever it is laid across. Over the arm of a sofa it falls almost to the floor.

The throw is cotton throughout, and because the yarn is dyed before it is knitted the colour runs through the fibre rather than sitting on the surface. It is 1cm thick and the knit simply stops at the edge; there is nothing sewn on. The Nahan is made in stone, in forest green and in rust, all at 130 by 200cm.
