Description

The Nadeeka is a counter stool 105cm high, built on a pale mango wood frame with four square tapered legs and flat stretchers running low between them. The seat and the back are both padded and upholstered in linen, woven in a fine vertical stripe of dark brown and cream that reads as a soft grey from across a room. The back is a single panel held between two uprights rather than a full back, so the frame shows through behind it.

The seat sits 71.5cm off the floor and is 45.5cm deep, which puts the stool at kitchen islands and breakfast bars. It is 46cm wide and 55cm deep overall, so it takes up little more room than the seat itself and pushes back under an overhang. The low stretchers sit where feet go, and because the back is padded as well as the seat it holds up to a whole meal rather than a quick perch. It weighs 8.7kg.

The frame is mango wood, shaped, sanded and assembled by hand and left pale so the grain shows through. The seat and the back are upholstered in linen over padding. The Nadeeka range also runs to a dining chair in the same linen and the same soft grey.
