Description

Murané Street is a track ceiling light with a single globe of Transparent glass, 10cm across. It sits close beneath the track on a short collar in a Brushed Champagne finish. The glass has a rippled, gently uneven surface that catches and bends the light, so the globe stays interesting to look at whether it is lit or not. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. Its 4W gives 167lm of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps food, wood and skin tones looking true. It is dimmable on DALI, so it suits a scheme run from a DALI control system.

We suggest it for the kitchen, where a row of these globes along a track over an island or a dining table gives warm, even light at every point. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. This is part of a system rather than a standalone light. It needs three parts, each sold separately: the Murané Street 48V track it fits, which carries power along the ceiling; a Murané Street 48V power supply, which feeds the track; and a remote 48V DC driver, through which the light is wired in to the mains by an electrician and which gives it the 48V DC it runs on.

The construction is simple and neat: the Transparent glass globe, the Brushed Champagne collar that holds it to the track, and the integrated LED within. It is a Class III fitting, running at 48V DC rather than full mains voltage. Being a system fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. When planning, choose all three parts together, so every globe along the run is ready to light on the day. The track in our photographs is not included.
