Description

Our Murané Street track ceiling light is a small glass sphere, 10cm across, in Amber glass set beneath a short collar in Brushed Champagne. The glass has a rippled surface that catches the light and spreads a warm, honeyed glow, and because the LED is integrated there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4W and gives 167lm at 2700K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90, so food, wood and fabric keep their true colours beneath it. It is dimmable through DALI, so it can be brought down to a soft glow from a DALI lighting control system.

This light is made for the Murané Street 48V track, sold separately, which holds the fitting and carries its power, so a line of glass spheres can run along a kitchen island or over a kitchen table from a single run of track. The track needs a Murané Street 48V power supply, also sold separately, which feeds it. The light itself also needs a remote 48V DC driver, sold separately, which turns the mains into the 48V DC it runs on; it will not work without the track, the power supply and the driver. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and in a kitchen it belongs over the island or the table, well away from water.

It is a Class III fitting running at 48V DC. The Brushed Champagne collar is a soft, warm tone that sits comfortably beside brass, natural wood and stone, while the Amber glass gives the light its golden colour even when dimmed low. Being a mains system, it is for a qualified electrician to install, wired in through its driver, so order the track, its power supply and the driver together and your electrician will have every part to hand. The track in our photographs is not included.
