Description

The Murané Street track ceiling light is a single glass globe, 10cm across, in Forest Green glass with a rippled surface that catches the light. The globe sits close beneath the track on a short collar in Brushed Champagne, a soft metallic tone that suits the deep green well. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 4W and gives 167lm of warm 2700K light, with a CRI of 90 that keeps food, fabrics and skin tones looking true. It is dimmable through DALI control, so it can be set low for a quiet evening.

This is a track light, so it belongs on a ceiling where the Murané Street 48V track runs. That track is sold separately, and so is the Murané Street 48V power supply that feeds it. The light also needs a remote 48V DC driver, sold separately, which takes the mains supply down to the 48V DC the fitting runs on. In a kitchen, a few globes spaced along the track give a warm, gentle glow over a dining table or an island, and at 10cm across several can share one run without crowding the ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

Construction is simple: a Forest Green glass globe on a Brushed Champagne collar, with the LED built into the fitting. It is a Class III fitting running at 48V DC. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician through its driver, so it is worth planning the track, the power supply and the driver together, and deciding how many globes you want along the run, before installation day. Once it is in, the only choice left is how brightly to dim it. The track in our photographs is not included.
