Description

The Murané is a pendant light with an 18cm sphere of Smoke Grey glass. Its surface is rippled, so the light catches and bends as it passes through. A small cap in Brushed Champagne sits at the top of the sphere, where the cable meets the glass. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 167lm of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps food, fabric and skin tones looking natural.

The Murané suits a dining room, hung singly over a small table or in a line along a longer one. It also suits a living room, where a pendant in a corner or beside a sofa adds a pool of light. It comes in two versions: with canopy, for a single pendant on its own ceiling point, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately), so several spheres can hang together from one canopy. The cable gives a drop of up to 300cm, so the sphere can hang at table height even from a high ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The fitting is finished in Brushed Champagne, a soft, warm tone that sits well against the Smoke Grey glass. The canopy is 5.5cm across and 13cm tall. The Murané runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. The 24V DC version needs a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately and not included, which supplies its power. It will not work without one. With an integrated LED there is no bulb to replace, and two or three hung at different drops over a dining table make a relaxed, glowing centrepiece.
