Description

The Murané R is a large ring chandelier: a brushed champagne band 150cm across, with twelve pink glass spheres set around it, some resting above the ring and some hanging beneath it. Each sphere is 15cm across, and the glass has a rippled, textured surface that catches the light as it glows. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 32W and gives 1765 lumens of warm 2700K light, with a CRI of 90, so wood, fabric and skin tones look true under it.

At 150cm across, this is a chandelier for a generous room: centred over a long dining table, or hung in a spacious living room where the ring has space around it. The warm light and pink glass suit rooms used in the evening, where you want a soft glow rather than a bright working light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It comes without its canopy, so you will need a Murané R canopy, sold separately: the ceiling fitting it hangs from, which covers the connection. It also needs a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately, which converts the mains supply to the 24V DC the LEDs run on; it will not work without either.

The ring has a brushed champagne finish, a soft, warm metallic tone that sits easily with pale wood, stone and warm whites, and it sets off the pink of the glass without competing with it. This is a mains fitting, wired in by an electrician through its 24V DC driver, and it runs at 24V DC. Installation is a job for a qualified electrician. When you plan the room, allow for the full 150cm of the ring and order the canopy and driver alongside the chandelier, so everything is ready on the day it goes up.
