Description

The Murané R 180 is a round ceiling canopy in Brushed Champagne, 39.5cm across, supplied with a 5m power cable and 5m steel cables. It gives no light of its own: the pendants hung from it take their mains supply through it, and those pendants are sold separately. The canopy is a slim, flat disc that sits close to the ceiling, and the brushed finish has a soft, warm tone that catches the light. The power cable is clear and braided, so it reads as a fine, glinting line on its way down to the pendants. It is push dimmable, so the light from the pendants can be turned down as well as switched on and off.

It is part of the Murané R range, and it is the piece that takes the mains supply at the ceiling and passes it to the pendants hung from it. The 5m steel cables are for hanging, so the pendants can drop a long way: that suits a stairwell, a double height hallway or a tall living room, as well as a dining room where you want the light low over the table. The steel cables fix to the ceiling at their own points, apart from the canopy, and the long power cable runs across to the pendants, so the canopy need not sit directly over them. It carries no IP rating, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The canopy is finished in Brushed Champagne, a quiet finish that sits comfortably with warm woods, cream walls and brass or bronze details in a room.
