Description

The Murané R 18 is a ring chandelier: a slim circle in a Brushed Champagne finish, hung with spheres of textured Smoke Grey glass that sit above and below the line of the ring. It measures 79cm across, and each glass sphere is 10cm across, so the whole piece reads as a wide, glowing halo. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 2647 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90, which means faces, food and fabrics look true under it rather than flat. The grey tint softens the glow and gives the glass a quiet depth even when the light is off.

We would hang it over a dining table, where its width frames a long or round table well, or at the centre of a living room ceiling, where a broad ring fills the space overhead. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It comes without its canopy, and no version is sold with one: you will need a Murané R canopy, sold separately, which is the part that meets the ceiling. It also needs a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately, which turns the mains supply into the 24V DC the chandelier runs on.

It is powered from the mains, wired in by a qualified electrician through that driver, and as a Class III fitting it runs at 24V DC. The ring has a Brushed Champagne finish with a soft, even sheen that sits with warm woods, cream walls and brass or gold accents in a room, while the Smoke Grey glass keeps the look calm rather than bright. With the LED built in, there are no bulbs to keep in a drawer. When you order, add the canopy and the driver at the same time, so your electrician can fit everything in one visit.
