Description

The Murané R 18 is a ring chandelier with eighteen spheres of Caramel glass set above and below a slim ring in a Brushed Champagne finish. Each sphere is 10cm across, with a rippled, dimpled surface, and the chandelier is 79cm across. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. It gives 2647 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a CRI of 90, so food, faces and fabrics keep their true colours beneath it.

We see it hanging over a dining table, or at the centre of a living room where its round shape can be seen from every side. At 79cm across it is generously sized, so it suits a larger table or a room with space around it, and the warm 2700K light is the kind you want for long dinners and quiet evenings. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only, and it should never go anywhere it could be splashed.

It needs two parts sold separately. It comes without its canopy, and no version with a canopy is made, so you will need a Murané R canopy, the fitting at the ceiling that the chandelier hangs from. It also needs a remote 24V DC driver, which turns mains power into the 24V DC the chandelier runs on. The Brushed Champagne ring and the Caramel glass make a warm pairing that sits happily with wood, brass and soft neutral walls. Installation is for a qualified electrician, who wires the chandelier in to the mains through the driver, so it is worth planning the chandelier, its canopy and its driver as one purchase.
