Description

The Murané pendant light is a sphere of Amber glass, 15cm across, hung on a slim cord from a small cap in a Brushed Champagne finish. The glass has a rippled surface that breaks up the light, so the sphere glows in deeper and paler patches of amber rather than one flat colour. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 167 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps wood, fabric and skin tones looking true, and the LED draws 2.7W or 4W, depending on the version.

We like it in the dining room and the living room. One sphere hung low over a dining table gives a small, warm glow at eye level, and a row of them along a long table reads as a line of soft light. Hung at different heights, several make a loose cluster over a sideboard or in the corner of a sitting area. The cord gives a drop of up to 300cm, so it works under a standard ceiling and under a taller one too. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

It comes in two canopy options: with canopy, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately). The version with canopy has a canopy 5.5cm across and 13cm tall and hangs as a single pendant. The version without canopy is for grouping: a multi-pendant canopy, sold separately, holds several spheres from one point on the ceiling. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. For the 24V DC version only, you also need a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately, which powers the LED from the mains. Choose the version with canopy for one light over a table, and the version without canopy when you plan a cluster.
